Production Operatives

£18,000 per annum with opportunity through training to rise to £22,000 per annum

Location - Basildon, Essex

Overview

This is an amazing opportunity to join one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of modular housing. The work is varied and challenging with excellent prospects for the right people. We currently operate a day shift only but will be moving to an alternating 6am – 2pm / 2pm – 10pm split shift later this year so please only apply if you accept this format.

What we do

We have set up a factory to build modular housing from Cross Laminated Timber. Essentially this means a house is divided into modules with each module being built complete in terms of internals. A finished module looks like any room you are sitting in with all electrics, plumbing, painting, tiling and even carpets fitted. The finished modules are then transported to site where they are assembled together and the externals are finished.

Team Leader

£23-£25K

Location - Basildon, Essex

Overview

Swan housing have set up a new branch to the business making Volumetric Modular housing in a production facility. The properties are constructed from individual fully complete modules using Cross Laminated Timber (CLT) which are then taken via road to site and landed to form homes.

We are currently looking to recruit Team Leaders to coordinate and supervise the factory operatives

A strong emphasis will be placed on Right First Time (RFT) and a solid team commitment to deliver modules on time and of excellent quality.

This is an excellent working environment where staff will work using multiple skills daily.

The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join the team here and be part of the future for house building.

You will have a very strong background in construction and/or manufacturing which could be from any industry, however experience within aerospace or automotive would be advantageous.

The ideal candidate will be able to apply themselves to varied situations and problems with an organised approach in not just identifying, but solving problems and developing methods for improvements with a strong emphasis on lean working practices.

Responsibilities are to include:-

  • Supervising staff within their teams to achieve daily output
  • Reporting of absence through to the direct management
  • Engaging personnel to be responsible and active during the working day
  • Awareness of Health & Safety to ensure we maintain company policies
  • Engaging with other supervision
  • Communication with the Production Manager & Engineering Team

Qualifications/Experience

  • Minimum 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Understanding of CAD drawings
  • People skills
  • Able to prioritise work
